In over 16 years, I’ve contributed to 300+ projects for small businesses as well as major global players.

PROERECTA.cz

Proerecta is a Czech brand of dietary supplements for a satisfying sex life for both men and women. The client was ready to take the brand and product presentation a step further, and it was also necessary to create a platform that could present more than just one product, as had been the case so far.

We kept elements that worked well on the old website/e-shop and added new content based on user research. Following current web design trends, we created a fresh layout that sells at every pixel and gets straight to the point.

The client also asked me to design packaging for PROERECTA Shot and PROERECTA Long. The goal was to convey a medical product look – hence the minimalist design of all packaging and labels.

After launching the new version of the website, the client reported a conversion rate increase of several percent. We continue to improve the site together.

FIVO.cz

A complete website from A to Z for the accounting firm Fivo. I developed the brand identity concept – based on consultations with the client, we came up with a mascot – a female gorilla that features throughout the brand’s visual communication.

I designed the entire website including content. The presentation runs on the WordPress CMS, allowing the client to make various content changes, manage contact forms, and especially create thematic articles to support SEO and brand awareness.

Woofney.eu/de

Complete e-shop creation and brand identity for Woofney – a pet supply shop operating in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

I designed a mascot for the brand – a female dog named Woofney, who supports the brand across all marketing communication. She is the face of the e-shop. I also handle the creation of all graphic banners for Facebook and more.

The entire shop is built on WordPress + WooCommerce. The solution is fully tailored to Woofney’s needs – from integration with payment gateways like GoPay, Stripe, and PayPal, to automated API communication with carriers (PPL, Zásilkovna, etc.) and various XML feeds for Facebook or Google.

The whole solution was designed with a strong focus on mobile visitors – the product listing and purchasing process are highly user-friendly.

AviationeXam.com

AviationeXam is an application for pilot exam preparation (EASA-FCL and FAA). It’s the world’s largest study tool for student pilots preparing for aviation licenses.

My task was to design the section of the app used by flight schools. This area allows instructors to manage student results, create assignments, set up tests, and evaluate performance.

The goals were clear: eliminate usability issues, streamline processes, and make it easier for instructors to manage their students. A special focus was placed on license management — making the purchase and management of training “slots” for a specific number of students as simple and intuitive as possible. The entire UI was built using the Ant Design framework and customized for our needs.

And of course, the application was designed to work seamlessly on mobile devices as well.

PojdFotit.cz

I launched my own project called PojdFotit.cz in February 2020. It’s a community platform that connects photographers, models, and other creatives with each other and potential clients.

Within the first six months, the site ranked in the top 10 search results for many key terms and keeps climbing. For this reason, PojdFotit.cz is an attractive directory for photographers, models, and studios. Clients can easily find the right talent, and creatives gain visibility and new opportunities.

At the end of 2020, we launched an Android app to make it easier for the community to browse photos and posts. Messaging through the PojdFotit.cz Messenger is more convenient, and responding to job offers is much faster.

Auringo

Complete CI development and website design, including a web application, for the new investment platform Auringo.

A major focus during the design and preparation of HTML templates was optimizing the web application for mobile devices — with the goal of making it feel like a native mobile app.

RSM Czech Republic

RSM approached me with their payroll and HR system in a state where it lagged behind the competition — the system was difficult to use, lacked clarity for users, the interface looked outdated, and it was completely unusable on mobile devices.

I was happy to help. After conducting user research and interviews with both staff and management, we redesigned the entire UI to meet modern standards and fundamentally improved the process of entering data and system monitoring.

The result is a clear, fully responsive interface for the payroll and HR management system, now called NUGGET SW.

Every year I collaborate
with people on more than
20 projects…

“When it comes to e-shop design, Jan is the clear choice. Thanks to his UX background, he brings huge added value — you don’t have to explain what goes where or why. He always meets deadlines, works fast and without unnecessary delays. Thanks, Jan! :)”

– Michal Jirek, Owner of Aromaniac.cz

“With Jan, we tackled not only the visual design of Valuo.cz but also the complete UX. From the beginning, he took a deep interest in our customers, services, and the direction we wanted to take the site. If you want a true professional who doesn’t just blindly follow instructions but offers advice based on years of experience, he’s the right choice.”

– Radek Šitera, Co-founder of Valuo.cz

StrategyQuant

Based on our long-term collaboration, the Czech global company StrategyQuant approached me to redesign their main website for presenting their automated trading software.

Until now, the website had not been their main sales channel — that’s about to change. So we started from scratch with a clean slate.

The site showcases four major products, each needing clear explanations of their purpose and functionality. It also includes extensive user support, forums, and a user section for license management and more.

Charles Bridge Investment Group

The Central European investment group Charles Bridge approached me to improve their website. The current site did not meet client expectations — neither in performance (low conversions) nor in the professional image it presented.

With their established CI in mind, I designed a new visual layout. Together with the client, we built the content to be readable and flexibly formatted.

The client also made use of my photography skills 🙂 — we did a photoshoot with their key management to reduce reliance on stock photos. Additionally, I delivered fully responsive HTML templates.

Silverum.cz

With over a decade of history, Silverum is one of the leading precious metal retailers in the Czech market. Over the years, they launched two unique products — in addition to their e-shop, they offer a savings program and a precious metal trading platform.

Following user research, I proposed a solution that passed the initial testing phase. We successfully merged classic e-shop functionality, savings management, and auction-like trading into one elegant platform. Whether users want to buy, manage their savings, or check the market — they can do it all from one user account in one place.

Carteon.cz

A long-time client approached me at the start of his new business. Carteon is a rental service for American Chevrolet Camaro cars.

The goals were simple. To nicely showcase the cars and their advantages offered, and to provide users with the option to purchase a voucher for a ride.

Aromaniac.cz

Michal Jírek, owner of the ČerstváKáva.cz e-shop, turned to me again for the implementation of a new online store. He came with a newly designed brand CI for Aromaniac. The UX on this project was done by David Kočí. My role on this project was solely the graphic design of the e-shop’s user interface.

The graphic style of the UI is based on the designed brand CI. A clean, light design interspersed with dark sections. The whole concept is founded on typography.

SpiroGym – a mobile application for a hospital in Prague

A team of physiotherapists from VFN Prague approached me to improve their mobile app SpiroGym, which is designed for patients with Parkinson’s disease. The beta version of the app underwent several months of patient testing and it was time to bring it to its final form. At the same time, it was necessary to create the corporate identity (CI) for SpiroGym.

First, we prepared the CI for SpiroGym. There were many ideas, but the winning ones were simpler, considering the target audience. The result is a symbol that represents clouds of air generated by the lungs and also symbolizes the process or activity created during breathing and app use.

With the CI ready, it was only necessary to keep things simple and “wrap” the app in CI colors, ensuring that all user interface elements were clear and easily accessible.
